Information about Tompot Cottage.

Tompot Cottage is a charming, cosy, Grade II listed, Portland stone holiday home in Chiswell a stone's throw across the road from Chesil beach. It dates from around 1650, and has a wealth of original features.

From the sun trap front garden the main entrance leads into the ground floor comprising of a lounge/diner for 6 people with a living flame gas fire, LCD TV, DVD player and stereo. Leading back from the lounge is a well equipped kitchen with built in gas hob, electric oven, fridge, microwave, washing machine, kettle, coffee machine, toaster, plenty of crockery, glasses, cutlery and cookware.

The small, rear, enclosed courtyard is accessed only via the back door in the kitchen. It is a decked area with a table, seating for six and a large BBQ.

From the lounge, stairs lead up to the first floor, where there is a spacious bathroom (which also has a shower cubicle) facing to the rear of the cottage. To the front there is a large twin bedroom with exposed beams and built in wardrobes. Another set of stairs leads from the small landing to the top floor where there are two more bedrooms - a small double to the rear and a twin room with a built in wardrobe to the front.

All rooms have fully controllable, electric heating included in the price. Domestic hot water is supplied by a timed immersion heater whilst the shower has its own on demand supply.

Information about Tompot House.

Like the cottage, Tompot House is also over three storeys as can be seen in the photo opposite. It's situated in the area historically known as Maidenswell. Chiswell and the beach are just a short walk down the hill.

Just to the left of the house is a path leading to the rear garden, which is decked and has seating and a gas BBQ. The rear door acts as the main entrance to the house. Please note the front door is only used as an exit or for moving baggage etc in or out of the house.

The rear door opens into the kitchen which is equipped with a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer and washing machine. There is also plentiful supply of crockery, glasses, cutlery and cookware.

A doorway from the kitchen leads into the spacious lounge/diner with dining table and chairs, two sofas, LCD TV, DVD player, stereo and gas fire. From here stairs lead to the first floor landing with access to a large, rear facing bathroom and a front facing bedroom with a double bed and large wardrobe.

From the landing there are stairs to the second floor where there is a rear facing bedroom with two single beds and a front facing bedroom with a double bed and a single bed. Both have storage for clothes etc.

The house has fully controllable gas central heating and the combi-boiler provides hot water on demand.

*** Access and Parking ***

Both Tompot Cottage and Tompot House are centuries old, traditional Portland stone houses. In both properties the bathroom and wc are on the first floor. The layout of both properties renders them unsuitable for infants and children under 24 months or for those with limited mobility through permanent or temporary disablement, illness, accident or age.

Please note that neither of these properties have off road parking. There is on street parking both outside the house and the cottage and in the surrounding area. There is also a small free carpark opposite the cottage and this is nearby (a couple of minutes walk) to the house. Failing this there are 'Pay and Display' carparks within 5 to 10 minutes walk. During the daytime in peak season parking in 'Underhill' and close to Chesil Beach can be at a premium.
